The sixth fixture of the season in Grupo I of the Segunda División B saw a very physical and competitive match between Real Oviedo Vetusta and Pontevedra at El Requexón, which ended in Los Azules losing 1-0.

Emilio Cañedo's lads were the better side, but were unable to make the most of the different chances they created. They emerged for the match with the aim and intention of extending their recent good run of form. Los Azules showed their willingness to take control of the match during the first half. Nacho López was dismissed for Pontevedra after a tough challenge on Vanderson. During the first half, Real Oviedo Vetusta made the most of their players out wide and had various chances through Villacañas, Steven, Alarcón and Rober Sierra, but the two teams went in for halftime with the scores level. The second half began with one of the controversial moments, as Vanderson's goal was unfairly ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper. Emilio Cañedo shuffled his pack and brought on Amez, Javi Cueto and Jero to freshen the side up. During the final stages, the referee awarded a penalty to the visitors for a non-existent push inside the area. Pontevedra converted, and took the three points from El Requexón.

Real Oviedo Vetusta will have another opportunity to get a victory next weekend against Coruxo. Emilio Cañedo's side will travel to O Vao next Sunday, with kick-off at 18:00.
