Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera appeared before the Press this morning at El Requexón, ahead of tomorrow's match against Deportivo Alavés at the Carlos Tartiere (kick-off 21:00).
The Coach began by analysing the encounter with Andorra, saying that "we knew how they were going to play, but we didn't know how to stop them or hurt them. We tried to defend higher up the pitch and they took advantage. The second half was more even, but they already had a big advantage. We got it wrong both tactically and on the pitch."
Regarding the January transfer window, Cervera discussed the arrival of Juanfran Moreno in place of the departing Miguel Llambrich. "He has been playing games and we didn't want someone who hasn't been featuring." Asked about new signings, meanwhile, Cervera was clear that the possible needs were "a striker who offers something different to the ones we have and a quick winger."
Going into Friday's match, the Real Oviedo coach highlighted teams like Alavés being "solid. You don't score many goals against them and they are how we need to be in order to move up towards the top of the table. It's important to win, but in particular to get back to feeling how we were before, and get back to what was helping us to win."
