Tonight's match saw Real Oviedo back in action at the Carlos Tartiere, coming up against Deportivo Alavés in Matchday 23 in LaLiga SmartBank. Álvaro Cervera opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat, Rodri Tarín, Luismi, Viti, Borja Bastón, Dani Calvo, Jimmy, Obeng, Hugo Rama, Lucas and Abel Bretones.

The Asturians started the encounter strongly, getting forward into the opposition's box and not coming under pressure defensively. The first chance saw Hugo Rama strike the wall from a free kick. The next opportunity would see Los Azules win the ball back and Viti's cross go just over the top of the bar.

Things continued in a similar fashion in the second half, before entering its most dramatic period during the final 20 minutes. Obeng was clearly brought down in the 70th minute, and a VAR check would see Abqar deservedly receive a red card. Real Oviedo and the fans at the Tartiere would push on for a victory, which arrived when Rodri Tarín headed home the winner from Koba's free kick.

Real Oviedo ended the night with a deserved 1-0 win; a scoreline which is beginning to become familiar in home matches.
