Real Oviedo Head Coach Álvaro Cervera appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.
Going into Sunday's encounter with Granada, the Coach began by offering an update on the condition of his squad, saying that "we have got Jimmy and Viti back in the matchday squad. They have trained normally and we could use them as starters. There are no new absentees."
Regarding the side's problems from set pieces, the Gaffer admitted that "we are worried. We are not an efficient side from set plays. Our opponents know that and make the most of it. Set pieces depend on concentration and right now it's a problem for us. We mustn't get distracted when we are doing the other stuff well, but they (set pieces) are making us nervous."
With respect to what he has liked from his team, Cervera highlighted that "I like everything, except the results. I can't change the results so far, but I am working to turn them around. I like the day-to-day work, I like how we play, and I like the squad, but the results haven't been good. We have to turn our results around. We know that one day we are going to get going and feel optimistic about it."
Asked about Roberto Suárez's new role as Director of Football, the Coach highlighted that "we have spoken in the last few days. I knew him, and it's always good to have someone working between the coaching staff and the sports management. We have been talking about things that the team is lacking."
Finally, discussing the next opponent, Granada, Cervera stated that "I watched the last game, but the real show was against Cartagena. They are very dangerous, quick, and I think that they are a team that you need to keep under control if you want to win."
