Real Oviedo faces its next league commitment against Villarreal after more than a week without competition. The blue coach, Guillermo Almada, highlighted in a press conference the good work of the team during the break and the desire to compete again: “Whenever you win, you want to keep playing as soon as possible, but we knew we had this break. The team has worked with great enthusiasm and commitment, and now we are eager for the match to start.”
The Oviedo coach also referred to the demands of the schedule, which will require managing efforts in the coming days. “We have less recovery time and will surely have to make rotations. We have already experienced fatigue in similar situations, so we will analyze it closer to the match. Right now, all the priority is on Villarreal,” he explained.
In that sense, Almada was clear in pointing out that the most important match is the next one: “The focus is entirely on Villarreal. We will think about what comes next afterward, but for now, all our attention is there.”
Regarding the opponent, the blue coach warned of the difficulty of the clash: “We are facing a team with a squad of enormous quality and in a prominent position. It will demand maximum concentration from us, especially in defense. We cannot give them the initiative because they feel very comfortable with the ball.”
The team's goal remains clear: to get closer to securing their place in the league. “I have always been optimistic. We have had matches where we deserved more, but we must keep competing, prove ourselves on the field, and try to be superior. We are entering the most important phase of the championship, and we have to face it with everything,” he stated.
Regarding the physical condition, Almada acknowledged an improvement in the team: “We are better, we handle the effort better, although there have been challenging moments due to the schedule. Even so, we will have to manage the workload very well because there is little recovery time.”
He also spoke about the situation of Ovie Ejaria, who could get some minutes: “He has improved and is eager to participate. He is not ready to play the entire match, but he can contribute at certain moments.”
The coach also wanted to highlight the role of luck in the competition: “Luck plays a role, but you have to seek it through hard work, responsibility, and focus. We have to keep going in that direction so that luck is on our side as well.”
Regarding the game plan, Almada made the team's approach clear: “We are not going to give up possession. We want to grow through ball control, but when we lose it, we must react quickly to prevent them from causing us harm.”
Finally, the blue coach emphasized the fundamental role of the fans: “We have felt their support from day one. They are a key part of the club, and we hope to continue bringing them joy because they deserve it.”
