El Requexón today hosted the final home match of the year for Real Oviedo Vetusta, as Emilio Cañedo's side drew 1-1 with Melilla.
Making two changes to the starting eleven from last weekend's match in Vigo, Real Oviedo Vetusta emerged at El Requexón with the aim of picking up three points to make up for the disappointment at the Municipio de Barreiro. The first half was uneventful, as both teams struggled to create chances, but Real Oviedo Vetusta was on top. However, Melilla struck first from a corner kick on the brink of halftime. Emilio Cañedo's team chased after the match after the break, dominating the play and the chances. Javi Cueto equalised, and the B team had the vast share of the game after this, creating a lot of great opportunities. They struck the bar and were kept out by some fine saves by the visiting keeper, as the match ended in a draw at El Requexón.
Real Oviedo thus added another point to their tally and will bring the year to an end with a trip to Las Rozas.
