The match at the Viejo Nervión didn’t only allow Real Oviedo to earn three points, get into the playoff positions, and show another great performance, but it also permitted one of our players to break a club record.

Alfonso Herrero, whose fine performance in Seville was crucial in the Carbayón triumph, became the first goalkeeper in the club’s history to win his first four league matches. Following his LaLiga debut on the 25th November, the shot stopper has won every game, conceding only one goal in the process.

As such, Alfonso has broken the record previously held by Alarcia and Juan Luis Mora, who were kept goal for the Asturian side from 1962-1967 and 1993-1999 respectively.
