Real Oviedo goalkeeper, Alfonso Herrero, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
Following last weekend’s match at the Nou Estadi, the keeper commented that, “it was a painful loss but we have to bounce back. It’s a long season and we have to put together a good run. We need to be self-critical. Last week we won in the last minute, but that’s just how it is. We have to put together a good run and become strong.”
With respect to the formation used against the Catalan side, Alfonso stated that, “we are versatile in that respect and the Coach has given us a variety of options. We are comfortable with that system. We play with different formations, but we are always working on them.” In addition, ahead of possibly taking to the field with two strikers against Mallorca, the stopper said that, “with one striker or two, the important thing is to take chances and be strong at the back. It’s all about finding a balance.”
Regarding the next opponent, Mallorca, Alfonso highlighted that, “they won’t be an easy opponent. They have a point more than us and we’ll have to give everything to win the match.”
Finally, in relation to the importance of returning to the Tartiere, the keeper highlighted that, “we always try to make ourselves strong at home and get the results to go with that. Bringing happiness to our fans is special and that’s why we’ll go into it with a winning mentality,” he concluded.
