Real Oviedo and Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa have reached an agreement for the loan of Álex Cardero for this season.

Trained from the pre-benjamín category in the blue academy, El Requexón has been Álex Cardero's footballing home since his early steps. His progression over the years led him to debut with the first team in 2021 and to be part of the squad that achieved promotion to the First Division. 

Last season, Cardero faced a growth campaign away from the Asturian capital. During the first part of the season, he was loaned to CD Mirandés, where he played 18 matches and scored one goal. In the winter transfer window, the midfielder headed to Cyprus to join AEK Larnaca, where he participated in 13 matches and scored once again.

In total, Álex Cardero has already played 43 matches in the Second Division. Now, the midfielder heads to León to continue his development as a footballer with Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, a team competing in the Primera Federación.
