Real Oviedo returned to winning ways in front of their fans. More than two thousand Oviedistas tinted Lugo blue, and pushed the team on to ensure that the three points returned to Oviedo with them.

Anquela opted to alter the formation, with two changes to the starting eleven. Mossa took a place on the bench, with the other usual starting defenders forming a back four, while Mariga returned to the centre of midfield in place of Rocha. Real Oviedo were professional throughout the match. The first chance came from a free kick move, ended by Fabbrini firing over. Saúl tried his luck a few minutes later with a shot driven across goal from the left. Lugo didn’t manage to get control of the ball, although Real Oviedo also failed to create too much danger, despite their pressure.

In the second half the Asturians pushed forward more as they went for the win. However, the first save of the half saw Alfonso intervene superbly to tip Fede Vico’s effort around the post. Anquela’s side responded by creating a fine chance. Toché had the opportunity under a lot of pressure, after a quick free kick and a flick-on by Christian. Fabbrini had the next chance from a counter attack by the away side, but the home keeper denied him. Kravets received a second yellow card for a strong tackle on Cotugno, and Real Oviedo were left with an extra man for the final twenty minutes. Anquela brought on Johannesson before Toché had another opportunity under pressure from Saúl’s left-wing cross. Mossa came on from the bench to freshen up the attack, and the goal arrived in the 81st minute. Johannesson found himself through one-on-one with the home keeper, after Aaron’s cross had seen Toché brought down in the box. Diegui finished the move to make the
score 1-0 and give Real Oviedo the victory.

The team will now return to Oviedo to resume training tomorrow, at 10:30, at El Requexón.
