Real Oviedo winger, Aarón Ñíguez appeared in the Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere following another day’s work at El Requexón.

Having not participated in the training match against the B team, instead training with the fitness coach, the winger assured that, “I feel perfect. I’m available to the Coach if he needs me.”

Talking with respect to Real Oviedo’s current form and his role as a key man in attack, contributing goals to the team, Aarón Ñíguez declared that, “so far the season has been very positive. The nicest bit is still to come, but only through hard work. It’s no good producing half a good season but not finishing it well. On a professional level, I’ve equalled my best goal tally, but I can still improve. Now I’m looking to beat it and help the team.” In addition, regarding the trust Juan Antonio Anquela has in him, the attacker admitted, “who wouldn’t want to feel that the Coach believes in them and feature heavily in attacking play? I am lucky. I have to give everything and help the team earn points.”

Asked what it means to return to the Carlos Tartiere and whether the good form helps when aiming for three points, the winger stated that, “playing at home is another motivation to go for the win, and we want Saturday to get here now. We feel good, but we are doing things to try to improve. We go for the three points whatever ground we play at, and we must keep that up. Good form means that people are positive, it means that we can go into games with confidence. We need to keep going like that, but with the knowledge that it’s not enough on its own to win us matches.” Furthermore, with regard to the next opponent, Almería, Aarón predicted that, “they will provide a battle. Changing their coach has been very positive for them, and I think they will make it a difficult match for us.”

Finally, regarding the even nature of the division, the winger stated that, “that’s how the Segunda is. We have gone seven games unbeaten now, but we mustn’t relax. We can’t think that we’ve done the job. There’s a long way to go, and our rivals are up there with us,” he concluded.
