Real Oviedo Vetusta welcomed TSK Roces to El Requexón for the first league game of the season today, with Los Azules triumphing.
Jaime Álvarez, whose side dominated from start to finish, opted for a starting eleven made up of B. Hórreo; Pablo M., René Pérez, Javi Moreno, Osky; Joselu G., Alex Cardero, Yayo, Viti, David Iglesias and Javi Cueto. The side from the capital of Asturias showed their desire to carry the weight of the match right from the off, controlling the play and putting together combinations to break through the lines and threaten the visitors. Alex Cardero and David Iglesias were the two goalscorers in a first half in which the team had a number of opportunities to extend the lead even further. The teams went in for halftime with the score 2-0.
The match continued in much the same fashion after the interval, with the B team refusing to take the foot off the accelerator and looking to increase the lead still further. Los Azules continued to play good football out on Pitch 1 at El Requexón, with quick transitions in play opening up gaps in the away defence. Alex Cardero found the back of the net once more, making the score 3-0. Jaime Álvarez then turned to his bench, bringing on Mangel and Vanderson, and later Guille Bernabéu. The final changes saw Marc Alegre and Álvaro Pedregal come on. René Pérez and Álvaro Pedregal scored the final two goals during the closing stages of the encounter.
The first three points of the season for the B team helped the side build confidence, as preparations begin tomorrow for next Sunday's fixture against Caudal Deportivo. The game will kick off at 18:00 at the Hermanos Antuña.
