Today saw the first preseason test for Ziganda's side, who travelled to Galicia to face Celta de Vigo at Balaídos.
Los Azules emerged for the match against the side from Vigo with a starting eleven made up of Femenías, Arribas, Ugarte, Johannesson, Vanderson, Javi Mier, Obeng, Tejera, Riki, Mossa and Ton Ripoll.  The match was characterised by its rhythm and high intensity, with the Asturians pressing Celta as they tried to play the ball out, and looking to link up to find a way through.  From one such passage of play Riki launched a fine counter attack, from which Obeng made the most of a rebound off of the home defence to put Real Oviedo into the lead.  Misfortune struck Femenías just a few minutes later, with a rebound hitting him on the back before entering the net for the equaliser.  Some fine combination play from Celta was then finished off by Emre Mor, to put the hosts into the lead.  The game slipped into a quieter period after this third goal, with both teams seeking to take control of the ball.  Halftime arrived with the score 2-1.
Ziganda looked to freshen up the team after the break, bringing on Juanjo Nieto, Grippo, Bolaño, Lucas, Jimmy, Edu, Borja, Rodri and Javi Cueto.  Los Azules continued to put in a very professional performance, dealing with the dangerous attacks from the Galicians and threatening Iván Villar's net.  Viti scored the equaliser with a fine low strike across the goalkeeper.  Real Oviedo brought on Gassan and Jorge Mier in the final stages of the match.
Real Oviedo are now travelling back to Asturias by coach, and will be back in training tomorrow at El Requexón.
