Real Oviedo Head Coach Cuco Ziganda today appeared before the club's Media Department at El Requexón.
In light of the events concerning COVID19, the Coach said that "it's an exceptional situation and measures are being taken.  We have to support them, be cautious, and adapt to it.  It's a delicate situation and we have to be careful with the pandemia.  We have to avoid risks and minimise the possibilities.  They've told us not to play matches for two weeks.  In accordance with that precaution, we are going to continue training, with pertinent breaks.  We, along with the medical services, will follow the guidelines, and keep the mentality that we will play the next match."
Asked how the circumstances affect the team, the Coach admitted that "we wanted to keep playing, since positive results improve morale and confidence.  We have time to train now, improve on concepts and get to know each other even better where possible.  We have to make the most of the absence of competition to make some automatisms natural."
Finally, Cuco Ziganda wished to send a message of calm, stating that "it'sabout a common responsibility, and it's also the responsibility of each individual.  It's a delicate moment, and although our profession is football, there are bigger things than football, and more important problems.  We have to set an example in precautions and prevention, following the steps that they set out for us.  Nobody is immune to catching it, but we must avoid tempting fate.  We all have to play our part so that there is as little contagion as possible."
