Real Oviedo secured an important victory at El Molinón - Enrique Castro 'Quini' tonight to stay in the battle for a playoff place.
Los Azules were clearly on top, dominating both the best chances and the play. Within the first minute Javi Mier had headed just over the crossbar. Luismi also tried his luck with a powerful volley, but he was denied by Cuéllar. Javi Mier had another opportunity from a header, but narrowly avoided the target once more.
Real Oviedo made a double change during the second half and the goal arrived shortly afterwards. It was an own goal, with the defender turning the ball into his own net under pressure from Borja Bastón and Sangalli. Real Oviedo's number 9 celebrated by pointing to the club's badge.
The team celebrated the victory by making their way over to the corner where some away fans were located, with a shirt saying 'afición' (fans) and the number 12.
