Javier Atance, an Oviedista in Fuenlabrada, has sent us an email full of emotion through hola@realoviedo.es  as well as a message of encouragement for the future:
Dear Oviedistas,
Finally, the month of April is over.  A month which is always special for me, but which has been a true nightmare this year.  Just like for all of you, all of my hopes and a bridge to relaxation have been destroyed.  It also took away the magic of 16th April, a special day for me since it's my birthday, and meant that this year it went unnoticed except for by a few people.
The only thing that is keeping me from falling into deep depression is thinking that a little while ago my beloved Real Oviedo went through an equally bad or even worse time than I have been since the end of March.  My football club spent years in purgatory and was close to falling into the abyss on two occasions.
For this reason, ever since this quarantine period began I've been wearing my Real Oviedo shirt at home and have decorated the front of the television set in my room which has brought me nothing new or positive so far.  It is a daily motivation to not falter in the face of quarantine, because if something characterises Oviedismo then it is that we have never surrendered in the face of adversity and that we have known how to pick ourselves up in the worst of situations.  Of course, this pandemic has invaded and undermined our morale but we will get back up, just as we always do, with Orgullo, Valor y Garra (Pride, Courage and Determination).
I just hope that the more promising-looking month of May is just like the same month 5 years ago, when us Oviedistas began to see the light again in Cádiz, and that we can recover complete normality in our lives, although I hope that this arrives long before we see our 'Oviedin' back in the first division.
Sending hugs to everyone from Fuenlabrada and Hala Oviedo!
