Today saw the first victory of the Mexican tour arrive in Tlaxcala, with Los Azules triumphing 1-0 against Los Coyotes to pick up the Trofeo Gobernadora 2023.

For today's match at Estadio Tlahuicole, Álvaro Cervera opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat; Lucas, Dani Calvo, David Costas, Abel Bretones; Camarasa, Yayo; Viti, Sebas Moyano, Schiappacasse and Masca, and the team demonstrated its superiority right from the opening minutes of the encounter.

With Braat returning to the team following injury and putting in a great performance, Los Azules dominated the game during the first half and looked to threaten down the wings and with shots from the edge of the box. Schiappacasse tried his luck after a move down the flank, but his effort went wide. Masca would have the next attempt, meeting Camarasa's corner with a header. Coyotes stood firm and looked to catch Braat by surprise on the counter attack, forcing the keeper into a fine save in the 25th minute. Ahead of the interval, Moyano also put a fine cross into the area which was met by Nico, as the Asturians again went close to opening the scoring.

The second half saw Jimmy, Javi Mier, Hugo Rama, Alemão, Oier Luengo, Paulino, Pomares and Álex Cardero enter the fray, and Los Azules played a fluid game, looking for quick combinations to break through the lines. Hugo Rama tested the home keeper with a powerful strike from the edge of the area just a few minutes after the restart. Real Oviedo looked bright, breaking into the opposition box and looking to link up, with the goal coming from one such passage of play. Jimmy and Alemão started the move, before Lucas played the ball into the heart of the area for Javi Mier to make the score 1-0. Alemão had a double chance to extend the lead, but was just unable to gain his reward.

Today saw a victory, a trophy, the return of Braat, and the debuts of Paulino and Alemão, in the second and final match of the Mexican tour.

The travelling group will enjoy a rest day and free time this Thursday, before completing two final sessions on Friday ahead of the journey back to Spain.
