Real Oviedo forward Toché was interviewed this morning in the press room, after training with the team at the El Requexón facilities.

The striker expressed that he had “high hopes, my batteries recharged, and I’m ready to get to work. I’ve noticed that the new people here have a lot of desires, there are still just a few of us. Let’s hope we can complete the team little by little and have a strong group that can compete for it all”.

Regarding what’s still missing to have a stronger group of forwards, Toché commented that, “right now only Steven and I are here, I think that it’s the most difficult position and the club wants to get it right. We’re hoping that we can get some healthy competition and more warriors to add to the group”.

Speaking about the category and level of play that he expects, the man from Murcia commented that, “it’s a very powerful Segunda División, where we’re going to see a lot of great teams and great players. I think we are going to see this Real Oviedo team going toe to toe against the great ones”.

Concerning the expectations and what the people already know about the category, the forward commented that “we have improved each year. We’ve already seen that during the season there are moments when everyone wants to celebrate too early and it’s a mistake. Last year we were so close, and we couldn’t quite do it. It’s important to be really humble and just go little by little believing that it’s possible”.

Finally, regarding his role as captain after the exits of Linares, Rocha, and Verdés, Toché pointed out that, “I’ve always tried to share my experience and help the younger people with certain things. Since I’ve been here so many years I try to be that, a help for everyone, and this year isn’t going to be any different. Three of our friends have gone, three captains, and we are all going to try to help those that are still here”.
