Real Oviedo winger Saúl Berjón was interviewed in the press room at El Requexón after the morning training session.

After several preseason practice sessions, the Oviedan thinks that, “It’s too soon to give my opinion of how everything is going to go, but so far everything has been good. The new people are good guys, they seem really great. You can tell they have skill, it’s interesting”. Also, speaking about what version of himself he expects for this season and his impressions, the forward believes that, “I expect to see a better version of myself, I feel like this is the best moment of my career, and I’m happy. I’m at home and that’s important”.

When asked about the tactical concepts which Juan Antonio Anquela uses in every session, the Real Oviedo winger said he understands that, “Coach is trying a little bit of everything because he wants to see where we’re most comfortable. He knows us, he wants us to enjoy playing football and he is going to put on the pressure in order to get the best out of us”.

Regarding the possible reinforcements in this summer transfer market, Saúl believes that, “The market has stalled. We have to wait and whoever comes hopefully will come to help us have a great year and try to get three points every match. It’s important to have a good environment, like we had last year, but this year take that one more little step”. Furthermore, when asked about the new signings during the summer market and the fact that they are players that know Spanish football, the winger affirmed that, “I don’t have anything against foreigners, but it’s important that they be players that know what this division is like. The new signings are going to help us a lot”.

When asked about the possibility that another player could accompany Toché at the point of attack, the Oviedan said, “We have two really good forwards. One that has proven his worth and another that still needs to do so. Whoever comes needs to be different from Toché, another type of player. Hopefully Steven will have a breakout year”.

Finally, when asked about the division, Saúl said he understands that, “We are in a division with historic clubs, but it’s still just the Segunda División. We have to compete and do everything right, so we can show that we are better than them”, the Oviedan concluded.
