Tejera: "Be as prepared as possible"

The midfielder hopes to be able to begin group work soon, admitting that "we like being with our teammates"

Real Oviedo midfielder Sergio Tejera today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
How have you felt during these first few days back?  Does it feel very strange to comply with the protocol?
- I wanted to get back to training and see my teammates.  I feel fine, and the guidelines make the return easier.  We are working little by little, but we hope to be able to train as a group soon.
Do you notice a lot of progress following a week of training?
- When you go back to training on a pitch you notice a difference after being at home and not being able to do almost anything.  You notice the adaptation work, Berto (the Fitness Coach) has it under control.  We are taking it little by little.
Are you looking forward to doing more work with the ball and training with teammates?
- At the moment it's a lot of running work, and very much individual.  We like being with our teammates and being able to do things on the pitch.  We hope to be able to do more from Monday onwards.
How do you see the return of the league season?  Are you worried that there could be a lot of injuries?
- We are all worried about it, there will be a lot of matches in a short amount of time.  We will try to be as prepared as possible, but yes, there is a risk of there being a lot of injuries.
How do you approach the 11 remaining matches?
- It's going to be difficult, with a lot of matches close together.  We are going to have to be strong mentally and give everything, especially at the start.  It's important that we are as prepared as possible.
There seems to be discussion of the possibility of friendly matches within the league...Do you think that is possible or recommendable?
- I don't know how they are going to do it, it's all up in the air.  We don't really know how things are going to be, it's out of our hands.
What is your contract situation?  Has it been extended due to objectives, or does it end on 30th June?
- I have another year here in Oviedo.  I am delighted to be able to continue and very happy.
Have you spoken to the Coach yet?  What message has he given you for these eleven matches?
- We haven't been able to speak together, but we are all thinking the same.  We are down there but had been in good form, and we hope to come back in the same manner.  Every match will be a 'cup final'.
