Real Oviedo midfielder, Ramon Folch, appeared in the Press Room following this morning’s training session at El Requexón. The Catalan discussed the defeat in Valladolid, emphasising his “pain” that the team couldn’t continue their good run after taking six points from the previous two games. “The team tried to play well. We dominated possession and they didn’t create much. It’s a shame.”

The defensive midfielder explained that, “it’s a tough blow which the team must overcome. We had the ball in their half a lot, but we were lacking the final ball. We must improve in the next game. Our opponents aren’t creating much. They only had three chances, and had to take them well to score against us.”

Ramon Folch believes that, “we deserved more because we were in control and dominated possession, and they created practically nothing. The first goal is important, and after they scored it they sat back and tried to add a
second from a set piece or on the counter. We got it back to 2-1 and had chances to equalise, but they scored a third as we pushed forward. We must look at the positive that we did well in parts, and try to reduce our mistakes. You always want to take the lead, but it can’t always be that way. We must be stronger defensively and keep reducing them to few shots, and then stop them scoring the opportunities they do have. This is especially true of set pieces as this league is so competitive and we must be stronger than ever.”

Following the defeat, the team now turns its attention to the next game, against CD Numancia. The midfielders stated that, “they are doing things in the right way, both at home and away. We are focusing on that game now because we need the three points at home,” he concluded.
