Real Oviedo midfielder, Ramon Folch, who continues to train separately from the main group, appeared in the Press Room following the team’s training session at El Requexón.

The Catalan explained that, “it’s just bruising from quite a heavy impact, and I hope to be ready for Sunday.” Folch, who has had a strange week having been suspended for the last match, hopes that he can “play a lot more matches, because we are always selfish, and we always want to play. Perhaps it was good for me to be able to rest, but I wanted to keep competing.” Speaking about the Tenerife match, Folch highlighted that, “things didn’t turn out well for us, but we don’t have to think about it anymore. We are only thinking about Sunday’s match, because it is a very important one.”

With Real Oviedo currently one point off the playoff positions, the midfielder declared that, “we don’t need to look at the table, only at Granada. Results haven’t been going our way, but we need to keep going; working and improving. The team didn’t play well in Tenerife, but we could have beaten Barca B comfortably. Matches are decided upon small details, and it’s obvious that a victory would give us confidence to go into the final part of the season in much better shape.”

With Linares and Toché absent at the weekend, Ramon Folch is convinced that “whoever comes in will do well, whether they are from the first team or the B team.” When asked more specifically about Steven, the Catalan commented that, “he’s a lad with a lot of potential, and he’s trained with us quite a lot of times. He is hungry to progress and is very capable of helping the team.”

Finally, asked about Granada, the midfielder issued a reminder that, “every opponent is very difficult, but especially Granada with the squad they have. We are going to need the fans at our side more than ever. It will be even more important than any other week,” he concluded.
