Real Oviedo were back at the Carlos Tartiere tonight for the Matchday 29 LaLiga SmartBank fixture against Albacete Balompié. Álvaro Cervera opted for a starting eleven made up of Braat, Lucas, Rodri Tarín, Dani Calvo, Abel Bretones, Montoro, Jimmy, Mangel, Viti, Sergi Enrich and Manu Vallejo.

The Asturians went into the match with the objective of taking the initiative and implementing their style of play on the encounter. The opening stages were very even, before Enrich had a good opportunity in the 25th minute. The striker met a great Abel Bretones cross with his head, but his effort was straight at the away goalkeeper.

Real Oviedo were relentless in their attempts to find a way through, and would do so just five minutes later. In the 29th minute Jimmy beat Bernabé with a great strike from the edge of the area to give the home side the lead. Los Carbayones got their reward for what had been seen on the pitch during the first half, and went in for halftime 1-0 up.

After the interval, Braat was called into action with a fine save to prevent Albacete from grabbing the equaliser. In the 50th minute, the referee awarded Real Oviedo a penalty for a pull on Tarín, but VAR decided to overturn the decision. The visitors would level the scores shortly afterwards through Álvaro R.

With the score now 1-1, Álvaro Cervera brought on Sequeira, Masca, and then Hugo Rama and Borja Sánchez, as the team went in search of victory. Abel Bretones on the left and Lucas on the right both looked to find the forwards with crosses into the box, but none of the subsequent efforts were on target. The final chance of the match saw Hugo Rama swing in a very dangerous cross, but Tarín's effort narrowly avoided the target. The referee blew for fulltime, and Real Oviedo and Albacete Balompié were forced to share the points at the Carlos Tartiere.
