The fourth match of the second phase of the season saw Real Oviedo Vetusta face Pontevedra CF at El Requexón today, with the encounter ending in a goalless draw.
Real Oviedo Vetusta returned home today with the aim of recovering from the defeat suffered at Coruxo last weekend. They were up against a Pontevedra side which did not make things easy for Emilio Cañedo's team. Today's match was a very even affair, in which Pontevedra dominated possession of the ball. Meanwhile the team from the capital of Asturias made the most of the spaces left by the Galicians, looking to link up between the lines and threaten the visitors.
The first half saw both teams get forward into the opponent's box. Real Oviedo Vetusta had the best chance, but Eloy Ordóñez was unable to convert. The B team's defence was solid during the opening forty-five minutes and dealt with the Galicians' threat.
The match continued in a similar vein after the break, although the B team did push for a winner in the final stages of the clash. Sandoval, who was one of the standout players on the field, had the two best chances of the second half. Emilio Cañedo brought on Alex Cardero, Erik Aguado, Pedro Inglés, Joselu and Steven to freshen his side up and add some spark. The match finished goalless however, but Real Oviedo Vetusta remain outside of the relegation spots.
The B team will face Guijuelo at 17:00 on Sunday at El Requexón.
