Real Oviedo left back Pierre Cornud appeared before the media ahead of this morning's training session. The French defender explained that the team is focused on the weekend's match at Santo Domingo and stated that "we are thinking about Alcorcón, and about going there and getting the three points. The team is switched on and preparing for Sunday."
Asked by the media about the Competition Committee's decisions regarding the last match, the defender wanted to move on. "Everyone saw the suspensions given. We can't do anything about it. Gijón is over now and we are only thinking about Alcorcón. We don't care about their suspensions, the important thing is winning in Alcorcón." In addition, regarding the good form in recent matches, Pierre reasoned that not conceding goals "is very important. It's not easy to keep clean sheets and we are in good form. We have to keep being strong defensively."
On an individual level, the left back said that he feels "good" after getting past a knock he had been suffering, before stressing that "we are going into a final stage where we have to be in good shape and mentally right. Every point is important and it's good that we are in good shape to help the team."
Finally, discussing the morale boost which the last result may have provided, Pierre preferred not to think too much about it. "We are preparing to get the three points. We mustn't let our guards drop and say that it's all done now. We have to keep going with the good work we have been doing."
