Nico Fonseca, new player of Real Oviedo

Real Oviedo and Club León have reached an agreement for the loan of midfielder Nico Fonseca until the end of the season.

The Uruguayan midfielder began his career as a professional footballer at Italian club Novara, where he played until the 2019/2020 season. Subsequently, the player moved to Uruguay to represent, first, River Plate Montevideo and later Montevideo Wanderers F.C.

His outstanding performance caught the attention of one of the biggest clubs in Latin America. River Plate signed Nico Fonseca in the 2023/2024 season, and with the Argentine team, he played a total of 28 matches and scored one goal.

Fonseca's most recent experience before joining Real Oviedo was with Club León. With the Mexican team, the Uruguayan played a total of 35 matches and was an important piece in the midfield of Club León.

Additionally, the midfielder has also been an international player for Uruguay under the management of Marcelo Bielsa.
