Highlights of the new week’s action for Real Oviedo’s youth teams were the victory of the top youth team, which guaranteed their qualification for the Copa del Rey after a thirteen year absence, and the confirmation of the title for Alevín B, after their victory against San Claudio.
On Sunday afternoon Real Oviedo Vetusta welcomed TSK Roces, aiming to secure the victory which would move them closer to the playoff places. Fidalgo’s side executed a game plan in which they were in control of possession and created the majority of the goal scoring opportunities. Goals from Edo, Héctor and Javi Álvarez (2) gave Oviedo’s affiliate side the victory. This victory saw Vetusta cut the gap between themselves and the playoff places by a point, and they are now seventh, 2 points off Tuilla who lie fourth.
Sunday morning saw the clash between Real Oviedo’s first youth team and Pabellón Ourense. This fixture was of vital importance for Alex Rodríguez’s side, since victory would guarantee Copa del Rey qualification for Los Carbayones, after thirteen years without achieving this aim. Strikes from Viti, Isma and Steven (3) gave the points to Oviedo, with the final result being 5-1. This win brought to an end a hugely successful season for the Blues, in which they had also finished second in group I of the División de Honor.
Real Oviedo Juvenil B prevailed by 4 goals to 1 against Arenal, with a goal from Eloy and a hattrick from Juancho.
Real Oviedo Cadete A won 5-0 away at Real Avilés.
Meanwhile, the Cadete B side also triumphed 5-0, against Masaveu C. On the scoresheet were Alex García, Lucas, Pepe and Cueva.
Real Oviedo Infantil A secured a 1-0 victory against Covadonga, with Álvaro netting.
Infantil B won 4-2 against Juventud Estadio B, with an own goal, a strike from Sergio and a brace from Alex providing the goals for Los Azules.
Real Oviedo Alevín A picked up a 3-0 win against Llano 2000. The side is top of their group, with a three point lead over the nearest chaser, Sporting de Gijón.
Alevín B claimed an emphatic 7-1 triumph against San Claudio, with Sergio (2), Mael, Mauro, Denzel and Ángel scoring. This victory saw Alevín B crowned champions, with three games still remaining.
Real Oviedo Benjamín A won 3-1 against Astur, with a brace from Lucas and an own goal proving the difference between the two sides.
Benjamín B managed to defeat Covadonga B 3-2, with David and Hugo (2) scoring.
Real Oviedo Prebenjamín A were the victors by 7 goals to 0 against A. Vv. Roces. Nico, Sergio Cote, Iyán (2) and Jorell all managed to hit the back of the net.
Finally, Prebenjamín B fell to a 5-2 defeat away at Castrillón Deportivo, with Roi and Alex hitting the consolation strikes for the Oviedo side.
