The Press Room at El Requexón today saw Real Oviedo full back Mossa speak to the gathered media ahead of the third training session of the week for Ziganda's side.
The left back began by evaluating the team's performance away from home in Ponferrada last weekend. "It was a demanding encounter, and we didn't put in the first half that we had wanted to. The mentality of holding onto the result is what made us drop back, but we did well and were convincing. Our intensity and concentration was fundamental."
Asked how the team is approaching this week, following last week's disappointment against Burgos, Mossa highlighted that "experience makes you get through moments like that, but we had an opportunity to turn it around. We knew that Ponferradina were going to give us a difficult match, but we focused on getting the three points."
Real Oviedo will be back in action this Sunday at the Carlos Tartiere, where they will aim for three points against Málaga. Regarding what the Asturians need to do to get victories at home, the full back believes that "we would need to do a wide analysis. The matches at the Tartiere are hard-fought and we always deserve more. We haven't been clinical enough and we need to bring continuity to our attempts to win matches. I want to play at the Tartiere in front of our fans, they always give us something extra. It makes things difficult for the other teams. We have to win home matches to move up the table. The fans make us stronger, we have to make the most of it."
Having been involved in the team's last four goals, Mossa believes that "the fact I've been involved in attacking areas is a good sign. This is all about doing things for the team and I am happy to help." In addition, regarding the fact he was a substitute against Burgos, the Valencian admitted that "there were three matches (in a week) and it would have been difficult to play all three. I spoke to the Coach. I am ready for whatever I am asked to do, and I'm happy to have won. We do a lot of things well, and we need to have the confidence to keep going, even if we haven't got the most positive results. Málaga is next up and they are one of the best teams in the division, but we want to win at the Tartiere in front of our fans. They were amazing at Ponferrada. I'm still not used to such things, even after five years here."
Asked whether increased competition in his position has seen his performance levels rise, Mossa believes that "it's relative to say that there wasn't competition in previous years. Christian isn't a striker, and he's had a good career. There's always someone new coming in, and they need to add something and help the level rise. That will help us all improve."
Finally, discussing the importance of getting another victory this weekend against Málaga, the full back reasoned that "we need to get the second consecutive win to give us the confidence to go to Eibar and win there too."
