The Press Room at El Requexón provided the backdrop as Mossa was presented with the award for ‘Jugador Cinco Estrellas’ Player of the Month forn February. Mossa is a key member of Anquela’s side; contributing both in defence and attack and scoring two goals last month. He was chosen by fans of Los Azules, who had the task of selecting from the five players nominated by the beer company on their Twitter profile @futbolmahou.

After receiving the award, the defender pointed out that “we have worked hard today. We want to turn things around and the important thing is the feeling around the team. Sometimes we don’t manage to carry it into the match, but the best way to prepare for a match is with intensity.”

When asked what the team has been missing, Mossa commented that, “maybe we’ve stopped doing things that we were doing before. This is causing us not to dominate matches, and we aren’t creating as many chances. We are working on it, and we need to find the solution.”

Regarding the physical state of the team, the defender stated that, “it seems like we are better physically when we win, and worse when we lose, but that’s not true. We are fine in that area. We are strong.” With respect to the team’s current league position, Mossa said that, “I don’t look at it whether we win or lose. When you are doing well you tend to relax too much, and when you’re doing badly you become more pessimistic. I want to focus on the day-to-day and hard work, because that is what brings you results.”

The defender also reasoned that, “the result in the last match affected the feeling around the team, but I believe that a victory changes everything and we hope we can get one soon.”

Mossa now has his sights firmly set on Sunday’s game against Granada. “The most important thing is the three points at stake against a promotion rival. We want to play well, because that is what will enable us to win. You never know if it’s better to face opponents at the top or the bottom of the league, and there’s no real difference. I don’t know the list of upcoming fixtures. I prefer to focus on Granada and then Córdoba. That’s the only way to do things well.”

Finally, talking about the award he received, Mossa admitted that, “I am excited to be able to work every day at this club, with this squad, and with these coaches. I would swap this award for six more points, but I am happy to receive it. What I do from now onwards is what really matters. I have that very clear in my mind.”
