Real Oviedo left back Mossa appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today, as he answered questions from the media online.
The captain started the press conference by talking about those teammates who are unable to be with the team after having tested positive for Covid-19, saying "I've been able to speak to the majority and they are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. We hope to have them back as soon as possible."
Discussing the impact that those absences may have on the manner in which the team prepares for Friday's fixture against SD Ponferradina, Mossa reasoned that "we'll prepare for it just the same as for any other game, given that we have to have the mentality of putting in the best performance possible and winning. We have players out, but we have a big squad. We have to approach the match in the best way possible: there is no excuse. We have to grow as a team and pick up a team victory." The defender did however add that "it's a strange situation on a footballing level but in line with what is happening in society. We all have people around us testing positive and we are not immune to catching it. We are trying to live as normally as possible, but it's not a 'normal' factor."
Asked whether it changes Cuco Ziganda's plans ahead of the match, the full back stated that "that's a question for him. The squad is focusing with the same intention as always, the same as in every other match. As a team we mustn't look at who isn't available, but rather focus on those who are, in order to prepare in the best way possible and win."
With respect to what he is expecting from the second half of the campaign, Mossa declared that "we always go into it with excitement and with the aim of improving on what we did during the first half of the season. We have to improve as individuals and as a group; that has to be our focus. We have a month with difficult opponents coming up, and we'll have to see what we are capable of doing."
Finally, regarding the scheduling of the SD Ponferradina fixture, Mossa highlighted that "I've played on a Friday before, but not at that time. We aren't isolated from what is going on around us and we know that our fans are not happy with the kick-off time. We had no choice, it's our game and we have to play when we are told. As a member of the team I'd ask the fans who do come to support us. Playing in front of our fans always gives us a plus."
