Real Oviedo Head Coach Luis Carrión appeared before the media in the Press Room at El Requexón today, ahead of the fixture against SD Amorebieta.

 

Going into the encounter at Lezama, the Coach began by providing an injury update, announcing that "we have got Alemao back, he will travel with us this week. We hope that Lucas will be back soon too. Romario's injury is a shame for him. Paulino was looking good, doing a great job, but he's not going to be able to play. We are going to put together a good eleven and work to win."

 

Regarding the options that are opened up in attack with the return of the Brazilian forward, Luis Carrión reasoned that "we have more variety. Borja and Masca are doing things well, but Alemao is back and gives us something extra up front. He's a weapon that we need to make the most of."

 

With respect to SD Amorebieta and the match he is expecting at Lezama, the Catalan coach reasoned that "they've not been in the best of form, but their last result is deceiving. They put in good performances and it's not going to be an easy match. We mustn't look at the opponent too much. We have to study them, yes, but not get carried away about whether it will be easy to get points or not. We have to be capable of beating anybody, and aware that when we don't play well then we can lose against anybody. We want to continue to pick up points and move up the table."

 

Finally, asked about how the squad goes into the match against SD Amorebieta, Carrión highlighted that "the lads look ready. I have full confidence in the team. We are aware that we mustn't relax. When you have an important objective on the horizon it doesn't matter who you come up against; you always perform at your best. The players have a spark in their eyes, but it's not enough just to have the ball. We have to fight, run, and be direct. I think that we will do that against Amorebieta."
