Real Oviedo full back Lucas Ahijado received March's DIGI award this month, after reaching his highest speed of the season during the match in Lugo and being measured as the fastest player in the team during the last four matches. Lucas Ahijado's top speed for March was 33.77km/h.
After being presented with his prize, the right back appeared before the gathered media in the Press Room at El Requexón.
The academy product began by analysing the importance of this weekend's fixture in Cartagonova. "All of the matches are important, but now there are three big points in play at a crucial point in the season. We are very excited and hungry to get the three points, but have respect for our opponent. It's true that we have been missing a little something away from home and the fans do help us a lot, but we have to go there to show up and to win."
Asked about the difference in this year's objective compared to that of the two previous seasons, when Real Oviedo was fighting for survival, Lucas believes that "obviously it's not the same. Anyone down at the bottom would like to be up there. It brings greater calm and excitement. We have to think about Cartagena and about beating them. That's the important thing."
Finally, with respect to his role in Ziganda's team this year, Lucas admitted that "I train so that I can help the group, and I will play wherever the Gaffer needs me to."
