Real Oviedo full back Lucas Ahijado today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
In a week in which he appears set to start the next game, given that Mossa is suspended through accumulated yellow cards, Lucas declared himself "hungry and excited" to play, and stated that "if I'm lucky enough to play then I will try to be at my best and help my teammates to get the victory."
Asked about his contributions from left back, the Asturian admitted that "it was a bit different to start with, but then I adapted to it. It's the other wing, but it's basically the same job. I am improving on every aspect through my day-to-day work." In addition, regarding what Ziganda asks of him, Lucas commented that "he wants me to work, to concentrate, to get forward and to defend. I have to be prepared for whatever may happen."
Regarding the importance of winning against Real Zaragoza, the full back believes that "a victory means that you see everything in a different way and would allow us to move away from the bottom. Everything is even in this division and points help you. The idea is to take it one game at a time and to focus on our day-to-day work."
With respect to the team's struggles from set pieces, Lucas reasoned that "it's all about concentrating on every small detail. We have to be fully switched on every single minute, both when we have attacking opportunities and when we are defending."
Finally, asked how the team is feeling after Monday's draw against Fuenlabrada, Lucas highlighted that "the team is united, together, and has clear minds. It's a difficult situation and we all wanted the victory. We mustn't dwell on it. We have to focus on the next match now, because it's right around the corner, and we have to go for the win."
