Real Oviedo Vetusta were back at El Requexón today, as they came up against CD Laredo in Matchday 29 in Grupo 1 of the Segunda RFEF. Having picked up a draw against Guijuelo last time out, the B team was looking to get back to winning ways, and Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Berto; Charbel, Javi Moreno, Marco Esteban, Osky; Víctor Blanco, A. Cardero, Iván, Miguel Cuesta, Sesé; and Enol.

The match began with the B team looking to take the initiative against a Laredo side who made things difficult for them in the opening minutes. The visitors, who were aware of the importance that a win would have for them today, went into the match with the aim of making things uncomfortable for Jaime Álvarez's side. Nevertheless, it would be Los Azules who would have the best early chances, with the first example being a great Víctor Blanco cross which narrowly evaded the forwards in the box.

Vetusta attempted to threaten the away side down the two wings, but 0-0 remained the score for the majority of the opening period. Enol and Álex Cardero would have the best opportunities early on, before Miguel Cuesta finally brought justice to the scoreline by opening the scoring in the 41st minute. The midfielder fired home the rebound following a great effort from Javi Moreno from the edge of the box to give Los Carbayones the lead.

The Asturians continued in the same vein following the interval, going in search of a second goal which would seal the victory. First a left-footed effort from Miguel Cuesta and then an attempt from Osky went close. Laredo regained their composure after Vetusta's strong start to the second half, but were barely able to create any danger in attack.

Enol would then go through one-on-one with the away keeper in the 65th minute, but his effort was denied. Jaime Álvarez began to make changes, bringing on Omar Falah for Osky first, before Adrián came on in place of Charbel, who had suffered a knock.

Nnoshiri, René Pérez and Nacho came on for the final ten minutes, as Vetusta looked to hold on to their lead, and the team would barely be threatened. Laredo striker Iván Argos was dismissed in stoppage time, meaning that the visitors had to play the final minutes with ten men. The scoreline remained 1-0, and Jaime Álvarez's side picked up an important victory at El Requexón, as they got back to winning ways and began to look up the table once more.
