Real Oviedo Vetusta still can't quite find the victory. The B team came up against UP Langreo today in Matchday 21 in Group 1 of the Segunda RFEF, and went into the encounter in need of a win. An own goal gave Los Azules the advantage, but the visitors pegged them back in the second half.
For today's match, Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of: Marco, Osky, Jaime Vázquez, Marco Esteban, Sesé, Yayo, Víctor Blanco, Dieguito, Iván, Santi Miguélez and Enol. The B team emerged the stronger side, dominating the opening stages. Following a number of attacks down the right wing, they would open the scoring in the 6th minute, forcing away player Ordóñez to turn the ball into his own net.
Vetusta had the early lead, but their plan didn't change. Miguélez had the opportunity to extend the lead shortly afterwards, but a fine save from Adrián Torre denied him. After the interval the match became more even, and the visitors were able to equalise from a set piece in the 64th minute. Gabri capitalised on a loose ball to make the score 1-1 and help his team to grow into the encounter.
The final stages were very even, with Langreo player Nané being dismissed just before full-time. The point felt like scant reward for Jaime Álvarez's team, which remains towards the bottom of the table with 19 points. Thoughts now turn to next weekend's league fixture against Cayón.
