Real Oviedo midfielder Jimmy appeared in the Press Room this morning and expressed his gratitude for the warm words of praise he has received following his contribution in the second half of the Almería game. "It's always nice when people say nice things about you, particularly when you aren't getting a lot of opportunities. It's not easy to go on as a substitute and do a good job." The academy graduate also explained that he is dealing with the team's league position "pretty well, because we were in a far worse position last year." He highlighted that the key lies in "keeping our patience, staying calm, and remembering that it's in our own hands."
Asked about the team's proximity to the relegation zone, Jimmy said that "we are calm. We are going into the crucial matches in the next few weeks in the best way possible. This week's is the most important one, and then the next one will be the following match. We are up against a team down at the bottom with us this weekend, and we have five games to go. We hope to secure survival as soon as possible, but first we have to get three points against Sabadell."
The midfielder is trying not to waste time thinking about anything other than "focusing on the daily work and trying to improve. (Playing at) the weekend doesn't depend on me, it's up to the Coach to decide. I am calm. He tells me to keep training like I have been up until now, and that sooner or later I will get my opportunity."
Finally, regarding Sunday's match, Jimmy highlighted that "we have to be very solid in both boxes, defend well, and try to make the most of the chances we have. We are giving it everything in training. I can see the team is calm and hungry to turn things around." He concluded by saying that the possibility of getting the three points at the Tartiere would be "a huge step" towards achieving the target of securing survival as soon as possible.
