The Youth Academy is Back in Action

A total of 24 of our youth teams will this weekend begin to take part in the tournaments organised by the Asturian Federation for the 2020/21 season

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!
One year and two months later, and a total of 426 days since the last competitive fixture, the Real Oviedo youth teams will be back in competitive action this weekend. The sides will be participating in the tournaments organised by the Asturian Football Federation for the 2020/21 season.
Real Oviedo Vetusta, as well as our División de Honor and Liga Nacional sides, have been playing all year, but a further twenty-four teams will begin to represent the club once more from this weekend. 10 of those teams are from the youth academy, while another fourteen are from the Soccer School. These twenty-four teams will be facing different Asturian opponents over the course of the next two months.
All of the teams involved have been training and preparing for the return to football for several months, while following the protocols and guidelines outlined by the relevant authorities at all times. Despite the lockdown, they have maintained their link and contact, focusing on the importance of the daily work in order to be prepared for the first weekend back in competitive action.
That return to competitive football will take place this weekend, and our footballers will not be alone. All of the Real Oviedo youth-team players, as well as all of the away players to play at our facilities, will be allowed to be accompanied by one person over the age of 18. This adult must follow the protocols established by the club when attending.
Our academy players will play their matches at Tensi. Entry will be free-of-charge for any accompanying adult who is a Real Oviedo season-ticket holder, while the price will be €4 for non season-ticket holders. The Soccer School's matches will be played at Fundoma. Entry will be free-of-charge, and all those attending will have to follow the measures and rules which have been put in place.
This is a long-awaited moment for our teams. With responsibility and by following all of the health guidelines, they will go back to doing what they love the most, they will go back to enjoying football.
