Real Oviedo midfielder Jimmy today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.
How have you felt upon returning? Does getting back to training together feel like you're almost back to normality?
- Good, personally I've felt good. Two months is quite a long time to be stopped, and we have to take it little by little at the start, but I feel good.
Do you think the week of 8th June is too much of a hurry to resume the season?.
- Hurried or not, if that's what the Ministry of Health say then I believe they have studied it. We will be more than ready, and everything will be prepared.
You're a local lad and the Tartiere must seem even more special for you. How do you feel about playing without fans?
- It's going to be strange. I've never played without fans. We are all going to play like that and we have to adapt to it. There is going to be less of a home advantage.
How do you think that playing every three days for just over a month might affect players mentally?.
- It's a lot of matches, but we have a big squad. Every player has to be ready for whenever he is needed. If there are three matches in a short space of time each week then we have to train hard and get mentally ready for it.
It's going to be time to fight for a place in the starting eleven again. Do you think that the youngsters like you have an advantage in earning a spot after a two-month break, compared to the more experienced players?.
- I don't think that we have an advantage. Every player knows the importance of what's coming up. We are approaching the end (of the season), and we have the team's future at stake.
It seems that, while the matches will be behind closed doors, they will have a pre-recorded sound played, in order to simulate the presence of fans or atmosphere. How do you feel about everything being heard, like the German league is allowing?.
- For me, the fans are irreplaceable. You can't compare playing with them and without them. I'd prefer the natural sound of silence. The fans are one of a kind.
In terms of the matches still to be played, based on your feelings from the first round of fixtures, which opponent do you see as the most dangerous or difficult?.
- I don't know what to say. All of us are playing for something and it's going to be a real battle. Each match is going to be a 'cup final', we have a lot at stake, and that's all there is to it.
How have you dealt with having few opportunities following Luismi's arrival?.
- I have to accept it. He's a great player. I have to learn from him and keep training. There are a lot of matches coming up in a short amount of time, and I hope to make the most of my opportunity when I get it.
Do you hope to stay at Real Oviedo next year?.
- I have a contract and I hope that, if Real Oviedo allow me, I can see it out. I want to keep representing the Real Oviedo badge.
Which aspects is the coach focusing on?
- He's working on tactical matters. Later, when the season returns, there won't be many training sessions, and we won't be able to do it then. It's what we have to do. There aren't many training sessions, but that's the way it is. We have to play to our strengths and go for it.
