Real Oviedo midfielder Javi Mier appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today as the first team returned to training.
Following the draw in Lugo, Javi Mier admitted that "the group is calm, although we had been expecting a better start. We have a team to turn the situation around, and I am sure that things are going to work out. The squad is committed."
With regards to the demands of the fans at the start of this season, the midfielder reasoned that "yes, they are demanding, but we are calm. We have to give it everything and work hard to turn it around. We are going to come through it."
Regarding his situation during the summer transfer window, the local lad explained that "I was told that I wasn't going to get a lot of game time, but I dedicated myself to working hard to turn the situation around. I am training now and am focused on my work and looking forwards. I will help the team however I can."
Asked about the team's lack of goals, Javi Mier highlighted that "Borja Bastón, Sergi Enrich and Obeng are three good strikers and the goals will come. We have a team that is capable of doing more, and through work the results will come."
Finally, ahead of Sunday's fixture against Cartagena, the academy graduate reasoned that "they are having a great season, but we have to be strong at the Tartiere. We need the fans to be with us and turn the stadium into a cauldron."
