El Requexón today hosted the first match of the second half of the season for Real Oviedo Vetusta, with Los Carbayones falling to a 3-1 home defeat to Peña Deportiva.
Emilio Cañedo made several changes to the starting eleven and his team emerged in search of a second consecutive victory.  The match began with the visitors taking the lead in the fifth minute, which meant that Real Oviedo Vetusta had to go in search of an equaliser.  The hosts took control of the play and enjoyed the better of the chances.  Vanderson scored the leveller, making the most of a rebound off of the away defence.  Los Azules then had chances to take the lead, with Tarsi going close, and an Alarcón free kick almost finding the back of the net, but the sides went in for halftime with the score 1-1.  Peña Deportiva struck first once more in the second half, making the most of a defensive error to make the score 2-1. Vetusta couldn't find a way through to the visitors' net, despite having several opportunities to do so, and the away side even extended their lead to 3-1.  Jorge Mier was also sent off in the final minutes of the match, leaving the B team with ten men.
Real Oviedo Vetusta were unable to secure their second consecutive victory and will begin to prepare for Sunday's match against UP Langreo tomorrow. The fixture will kick off at 12:00 at Ganzábal.
