Horaţiu Moldovan Signs For Real Oviedo

The keeper, who joins from Atlético de Madrid, signs from the Asturians on a loan deal running until the end of the season

Real Oviedo and Atlético de Madrid have reached an agreement for Horaţiu Moldovan to join Los Azules on loan. The goalkeeper has agreed a deal running until 30th June 2026, with the option to make it a permanent at the end of the season.
 
Horaţiu Alexandru Moldovan is 27 years old and was born on 30th January 1998 in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). The new shot stopper came through the CFR Cluj youth system, before continuing his development in his own country, including Hermannstadt, Energeticianul, UTA Arad, and Ripensia Timișoara. Later, Horatiu Moldovan signed for Rapid Bucharest, becoming a key man in the club's promotion to Liga I. His time with the Romanian side allowed him to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the division, and he progressed to the Romanian national team, making his debut on 17th November 2022 in a friendly against Slovenia.
 
In January 2024, Moldovan signed for Atlético de Madrid, competing for a place with Jan Oblak. His next destination was Sassuolo in Serie B. He made 27 appearances and was a key man in the team's promotion to Serie A, thanks to his solidity and consistency between the posts.
 
Moldovan has been an international with the Romanian national team since 2022, being an active participant in qualification for Euro 2024.
