Real Oviedo returned to winning ways this Saturday, dominating CD Covadonga from start to finish in a 5-0 victory. Following the draw against Arandina, the B team was looking to bounce back this weekend, and they did so in style against their fellow Oviedo-based side. Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of Marco, Osky, Aimar Collante, Jaime Vázquez, Lamine, Yayo, Víctor Blanco, Diego Menéndez, Santi Miguélez, Darío and Xavi Sola.
Vetusta were aware of the importance and need to win today, and emerged strongly, looking to find a way through right from the kick-off. After threatening a few times down the wing, Los Azules opened the scoring from a set piece. Santi Miguélez swung the ball in from the left wing, and Aimar Collante headed home to make the score 1-0 in the 34th minute. A dead ball would prove crucial again a few minutes later, with the Miguélez and Aimar combining once more to give Los Carbayones a 2-0 lead in the 39th minute.
The B team didn't take the foot off the accelerator after the interval, and in the 55th minute Xavi Sola scored a great goal to make the score 3-0. In the 65th minute Miguélez converted from a one-on-one, before Dieguito added the final goal in the final minutes, providing Jaime Álvarez's team with an important triumph.
These three points were incredibly important in order to give the team a morale boost. The victory moves Vetusta up to thirteenth, with 15 points, and thoughts now turn to the coming league fixture against Compostela.
