The club wanted to celebrate International Women's Day this 8th Match byb recognising players from our women's side, as well as female season-ticket holders, supporters' club members, and fans who have been on the frontline of the battle during the pandemic this year.
Those present wore shirts designed by LaLiga and the Association of Spanish Footballers' Foundation to mark the day, and gave thanks to both organisations for contributing towards a better football. The eleven women in attendance represent all of those who make up our society and in one way or another contribute their Oviedismo towards making our club stronger. Today they posed for a very special photograph.
Three players from Real Oviedo Femenino (Marino Crespo, Laura Gutiérrez and Alejandra Moro) made up part of our eleven. All three are physiotherapists, who have now received their first dose of the vaccine, and who in addition to their medical work, represent our club on the field. Next up were nurses from the Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias and Monte Naranco: Belén Fernández, Belén Galán and Alicia López, all of whom are loyal Real Oviedo supporters. Members of the security and police forces were also present: Marta Aguado and Esther Rodríguez (National Police), Enma Nava and Carla Hernández (Guardia Civil) and Francisca de Asís (security guard).
All of them came together today, in representation of the many female Oviedistas we want to pay homage to, to form our "All-Star Eleven".
We would like to express our gratitude to all women this 8th March, and particularly to the female Oviedistas.
