October drew to a close for the B team today as they faced CD Mosconia at El Requexón. Vetusta ran out 1-0 winners and remain in first position, as they prolonged their fine form from recent matches.
Jaime Álvarez opted for a starting eleven made up of: Berto Hórreo; Pablo Menéndez, Javi Moreno, Lucas Laso, Viti; Yayo, Joselu, Alex Cardero; David, Chus and Pedregal. The B team looked to deal with the threat of Mosconia and would eventually gain the three points in stoppage time once again.
Los Azules dominated the early stages of the first half, as Real Oviedo Vetusta emerged the stronger side and controlled the possession and the best chances. Mosconia were finally able to gain a breather as the half progressed, as they won the ball from the team from the capital of Asturias and threatened Berto Hórreo in the home goal. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-0.
The halftime interval saw Eloy Ordóñez enter the fray and Real Oviedo Vetusta improve as the half progressed. The opening minutes of the half saw Mosconia go close, but they would gradually see Jaime Álvarez's team take over the ball and the best chances. Mangel and Osky came on and the B team began to create through the centre and on the wings, laying siege to the away goal. Nnoshiri and Marc Alegre were the final substitutes used. Real Oviedo Vetusta would finally get their reward in added time through an Eloy Ordóñez goal.
The team from the capital of Asturias picked up another three points today as they kept their fine run going and stayed top of the league. Vetusta will visit Navarro next time out.
