Real Oviedo Vetusta was defeated 3-0 by Club Deportivo Coria at La Isla in the first leg of the Second Round of the promotion playoff to Primera Federaci贸n. Roberto Aguirre's team will have to aim for a comeback in the second leg at the Carlos Tartiere after a match that became an uphill battle from the very beginning.
The blue coach made only one change to the starting eleven that had overcome the previous round against Tudelano, bringing in Lucas Anta帽贸n in place of Dieguito. However, the match did not start in the best way for the Oviedo reserve team. In the opening minutes, Benji N煤帽ez put the Extremadura side ahead by capitalizing on a cross from the left and scoring from close range to make it 1-0, a real blow for the Carbay贸n team.
Vetusta tried to respond and began to approach the opponent's area. In the 12th minute, Enzo tried his luck with a shot that went over the crossbar. Four minutes later, Miguel Narv谩ez had to intervene to prevent the second local goal after a dangerous shot from Mba. By the 19th minute, Guille Berzal attempted to equalize, but his shot went wide. As the minutes passed, the match became more balanced, but it was Coria who struck again before halftime. In the 38th minute, Toper found the reward for the home team and scored the 2-0 with which both teams went to the locker rooms.
After the restart, the situation became even more complicated for Vetusta. Jacobo scored the third goal for the Extremadura side, creating a significant gap in the tie. Looking to change the course of the match, Roberto Aguirre made a triple substitution in the 60th minute, bringing on 脫scar de la Hera, Cheli, and Dieguito. Later in the final stretch, Coballes and Lamine also came on, aiming to add freshness and create danger in attack.
Vetusta kept trying until the end, and in the 90th minute, Agud铆n came close to reducing the deficit, but his shot went high. With the final score at 3-0, the Oviedo reserve team will need to mount a comeback at the Carlos Tartiere to keep dreaming of promotion to Primera Federaci贸n.
