Real Oviedo midfielder Edgar González this morning analysed yesterday's draw against SD Ponferradina, in which he scored the equaliser.
Edgar was asked what could be causing the team to play out so many draws, with a total of 14 so far this season. He commented that "perhaps we have been lacking the fluency to kill off games. I think that we clearly dominated the second half and pinned the opponent back in their half. We might need to create more chances in order to score. All we can do is keep working, and we have another two matches this week to try to get a victory from."
With respect to objectives, with March now virtually over, Edgar said that the objective is to win in Alcorcón. "I am one of those people whose objective is always to win the next match, and there are six points available this week. We must only think about Tuesday's game, because it's a very difficult one. They need to win just like we do."
Regarding the team's lack of spark at this stage of the season, compared to the energy it had shown just before the Winter Break, Edgar believes that "we are still recognisable in terms of our defensive work. We work very tightly together and don't give too much away. Perhaps we are finding it hard to generate more danger. Everyone has a lot at stake now and all of the matches are very even. The small details are what make the difference. The key lies in continuing to work and believing that we are going to get the three points."
