Real Oviedo remain unbeaten this preseason following this evening’s trip to El Toralín, home of SD Ponferradina. Anquela once again employed a completely different team in each half of the match. The home side failed to test Juan Carlos in the first half, while Saúl, Linares and Asier carried Real Oviedo’s main threat, but Oviedo were unable to convert their superiority into a lead on the scoresheet.
In the second half Toché finished off Viti’s perfect assist to open the scoring. Alfonso then had to make a fine save to deny a shot from the hosts. However, he was unable to do anything to keep out Menudo’s goal, a fine freekick into the top corner which meant the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
The team will return to Oviedo to resume training tomorrow, from 18:30.
