Real Oviedo completed their fifth test of the preseason without taking a loss, but unable to capitalize on any of the clear opportunities in front of the goal during the match. The first came in the the third minute, when the referee called back a legal goal by Carlos Hernández, who won a header from a corner kick taken by Aarón. In fact, the Elche native threatened
again in a second attempt in a quick counter-attack started by debutant Fabbrini, a play which ended in a powerful shot from the left by Aarón that was saved by the home side's goalkeeper. With several through balls and a spot kick play, Real Oviedo dominated a Cultural side that didn't test Alfonso Herrero in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, and with six changes made by Anquela, Real Oviedo continued to dominate possession of the ball against a Cultural team that defended during the beginning portion of the second half. Christian had an opportunity from a cross from the left side that resulted in a good header attempt; Linares, on a wonderful ball from Folch, shot between two defenders; Steven attempted off a pass from Saúl; another cross threatened but was left unmet; 45 minutes of intensity from the Real Oviedo side failed to open the scoresheet but saw a high level of play from all the players who participated, including those from the affiliate team.

Real Oviedo will enjoy a day off tomorrow and will return to training on Monday (10h and 18:30h) at El Requexón.
