The Hermanos Antuña today provided the setting as Real Oviedo Vetusta played the second game of the season. The B team fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Caudal Deportivo.
The Coach opted for a starting eleven made up of B. Hórreo; Javi Moreno, René Pérez, Lucas Laso, Viti; David Iglesias, Guille Bernabéu, Yayo, Alex Cardero, Vanderson and Javi Cueto for the match in Mieres. The encounter was marked by the intensity and the heat.
The first half was a physical affair, with Real Oviedo Vetusta looking to keep the ball and make the most of long balls for the front men to battle with defence, but they were up against a Caudal Deportivo side which did not make things easy for them. The hosts took the lead in the thirteenth minute of the game, although Los Carbayones did not let their heads drop and were relentless in their efforts to equalise.
Vetusta were able to start again in the second half and took control of the ball, but it was not their day in front of goal. Caudal barely threatened Berto Hórreo's goal. Jaime Álvarez turned to his bench and brought on Osky, Joselu and Pablo. Los Azules began to launch attacks, but were unable to take advantage of them. Conceiçao and Chus came on in the final changes. Vetusta went down to ten men in stoppage time, when Berto Hórreo received a straight red card for his protests.
The B team was unable to bring home a positive result from the Hermanos Antuña, but will tomorrow begin work towards the next league fixture, which will see the side face UP Langreo B.
