Real Oviedo went back to the Carlos Tartiere this afternoon for the Matchday 27 LaLiga SmartBank fixture against Burgos CF. Álvaro Cervera's side went into the match with a starting eleven made up of: Braat, Lucas, Rodri Tarín, Dani Calvo, Abel Bretones, Moro, Luismi, Jimmy, Koba, Manu Vallejo and Sergi Enrich.

The Asturians began the match by looking to take the initiative and break the deadlock. In just the fifth minute Manu Vallejo went through one-on-one, but the attack was pulled back for offside. Koba was next to try his luck, but his effort from the edge of the box deflected off a defender for a corner. The evenness between the two teams was evident, and the score remained 0-0 at halftime.

The second half began with a double chance for Real Oviedo, with Luismi and Koba both attempting to open the scoring. Luismi's powerful shot from the edge of the area was blocked by a defender, before the French midfielder curled an effort just over the bar.

Just after these opportunities, Burgos scored what would prove to be the only goal of the game. Atienza headed home from a right-wing cross in the 50th minute to make the score 1-0. Real Oviedo did not let their heads drop and went in search of an equaliser. However, despite the fact that there was more than enough time to turn the match around, Sergi Enrich was dismissed for two yellow cards in the 54th minute, and Álvaro Cervera's team had to play a large part of the second half with ten men.

Despite Burgos CF having the numerical advantage, Los Carbayones would still have the best chances of the match. Tarín headed against the post from Moro's cross in the 75th minute. Leo Sequeira, who had come on as a second-half substitute, would also go close to levelling the scoring in the 85th minute. After a fine run, the Argentinian put in a venomous cross, which was kept out by José Antonio Caro at the last moment. Los Azules kept looking for the equaliser until the final minute, but were unable to find the way through.

The team will return to training at 10:30 on Tuesday, as they prepare for the fixture in Cartagena.
